I am asking for your support to be the Democratic Candidate for State Representative in House District 10
For more than 35 years, I have been involved in public policy in Colorado and in Boulder County. I have served as a volunteer on many state and local boards and commissions, addressing important community and state issues. Over the years, I have served the Democratic Party in many capacities, including Boulder County Chair. Last December I retired as Intergovernmental Relations Director for Boulder County.
I feel strongly that the time is right for me to continue my fight for important public policies and Democratic values as your elected representative.
On The Issues, I stand for:
- Universal access to health care, including mental health
- Adequate funding for education - early childhood through college
- Environmental preservation and economic vitality
- Energy sustainability
- A multi-modal transportation system that works
- Growth management and preservation of open lands
- Comprehensive tax reform that requires multi-state corporations and the mega-rich to pay their fair share, growth to pay its own way and those who profit from Colorado’s natural resources to take financial responsibility for all of their impacts.
- A well coordinated human services network that stresses prevention and supports self-sufficiency
- Restoration and protection of civil liberties for ALL who live in Colorado
- Choice and reproductive rights for women
This election is about much more than just issues.
You and I are at a time in the history of our nation when we must have leaders whose commitment to progressive values comes first. For over forty years, I have fought to elect strong, progressive Democrats, beginning with Jack Kennedy, then Robert, then George McGovern. At the local level I’ve worked for leaders who have been dedicated to change that matters.
I am a candidate for House District 10 Representative so that I can continue to do what I have committed my life to accomplish. I have fought hard for better services for the poor and for civil liberties - including choice for women and better education for our children. I’ve worked long and hard to protect our environment and open space and have always fought for change that matters. I am proud of my public service.
This year I am eager to run with and to support progressive Democrats from the White House to the Courthouse who are dedicated to a new vision of how good America can be. We know the practical changes we must make in order to turn that vision into reality. Now we must work diligently for those changes. This election is about proving that government for the common good can work again.
