A General Statement from the Candidate about the Position Statements on this site:

The “Position Statements” found on this site will summarize in a page or two how I stand on current and potential Colorado state legislative issues. I include statements on the following priority issues — issues about which I care a great deal:

• universal health care,
• early childhood through higher education,
• environmental preservation and economic vitality;
• energy sustainability, multi-modal transportation,
• growth management and open space preservation, as well as
• comprehensive tax reform and
• human services.

In addition to these important current state priorities, I am committed to restoration and protection of civil liberties for ALL persons who reside in Colorado. I am deeply concerned about, and looking for solutions to, the unintended negative impact that recent state legislation on illegal immigration is having on the ability of legal immigrants, of the poor and of older Coloradoans to receive the services they deserve and need. Additionally, I strongly support choice and reproductive rights for women and families.

Many colleagues and supporters have contributed their best knowledge and experience to the positions that I have adopted and printed here. I have accepted their help gratefully because no one can possibly know all there is to know about these very complex issues. I welcome your help and input, too.

These position statements are dynamic documents based on the best information and policy analysis I can obtain. During the course of this campaign, and if I am elected to be your House District 10 State Representative, I will both represent the concerns of HD10 and lead the way to solutions through effective legislative action.
